Understanding the Student Journey In the student recruitment process, it’s important that we remember to separate the student from their persona. When we sort students by their ‘persona’ — their age, country of origin, etc. — we lose sight of the most important thing: their individual stories. Did you know? The average student journey starts 18–24 months before enrollment. Study in the USA conducted a case study interviewing numerous students over the course of a 6-month period to understand just how different their journeys are. The results were eye-opening. We encourage you to take a glimpse into the lives of five of these international students. What did they go through to study in the U.S.? Where did institutions support or fail them? What can YOU do to create a better experience for them? You can access our case study about the student journey here. Study in the USA magazines continue to promote your programs at major fairs around the world. This month, several U.S. school representatives met with students, parents, and counselors at StudyGlobal Education Fairs in cities across Vietnam, including Hanoi, HCMC, and Danang. Hang Pham, Deputy Director of Recruitment in Vietnam at StudyGlobal Education Fairs states, “Our fairs are still a great way to introduce your institution to students and parents in different parts of the country who are eager for information about study opportunities in different countries. It is often the connection you or your representative make with a student or parent that convinces them to choose your institution over others. (This includes juniors and sophomores who will not be applying for overseas study for another year or two.)” If you are unable to attend these fairs, Study in the USA magazines will be there for you! You can read Study in the USA magazines digitally here! If you’d like to explore ideas with us and figure out how we can support your team, get in touch! “Study in the USA will regularly reach out to us with ideas to help us expand our market. We have worked with them several times on live streams and other special promotions. They are with us every step of the way to make sure it all goes smoothly and always provide us with key analytics post-event to help us track success.” —Teresa Baker, Associate Director, The University of Texas at Austin Looking for inspiration?
