Rethinking Student Research: What Universities Are Missing

A recent survey by The Ambassador Platform — “Do You Know What Future Students Really Want?”* — reveals three key takeaways for engaging with prospective students during their research and information gathering stage.

Takeaway #1
University representatives ranked in-person events as most valuable for students when they’re in the research phase, while the students themselves noted that the university website is their most important resource.
Takeaway #2
While YouTube and Instagram lead the way as students’ preferred social platforms for research, in third place is … LinkedIn. Not what you’d expect from the TikTok generation, is it? 
 

Takeaway #3
Students want to connect with their peers much earlier in their journey than  recruiters might think. They most want connection not when their arrival on campus is imminent, but when they’re deciding which school to attend.
